The Beginning of Your MLM Downline
One of the most exciting experiences when building an MLM business is to sign up your first new distributor after having shown them your business plan or products. Keeping track of your MLM downline is relatively simple at this early stage as you only have one distributor in your business and most of the training and guidance in what to do next will come from your active upline. As more people join your business and as you gain more experience in showing the plan, following up and training those who join you, the process still remains fairly simple. You have an immediate downline one level under you with maybe one or two signed up under them. At this point keeping track of your MLM downline distributors is relatively simple as you only have a handful of people to stay in contact with, follow up and share information with. Many distributors use a spreadsheet or even a whiteboard to keep their downline organized and a simple calendar and address book application on your computer will enable you to arrange your appointments.
A Growing MLM Downline
But even more exciting than signing up your first distributor is helping one of your downline distributors sign up a new distributor in their business. This is when you really know your business is beginning to grow. Even better is when one of your distributors begins to replicate your efforts and starts to sign up new distributors without your help at all. This is when you know your residual income business is on its way. At this point, keeping track of your MLM donwline becomes far more complex. There are now 30 to 40 people plus in your business requiring your help and advice. Although many distributors continue to get by with their original whiteboard, spreadsheet, calendar and address book, these tools simply do not provide the necessary integration required to organize your downline business in a way that lets you concentrate on building your business. Your time starts to get eaten up with mundane tasks that often involve keeping track of information or finding information in a timely fashion. For instance, what a distributor’s spouse’s and children’s names are, what your next action with them is, what occurred at your last meeting with them, what their goals are, what training they’ve had, have they had any recent contact with your upline etc. When you are working with a large group of people, these types of details often get lost. This is where MLM downline software can help.
What MLM Downline Software Can Do
A software package designed specifically for multi level marketing distributors can alleviate all of these problems by providing the information you require at your fingertips when you need it. MLM Downline software can also make keeping this information much easier by providing places to conveniently type the information as it is gained.
The advantage of multi level marketing software is that it integrates all of the information so that you can look at a hierarchy of your downline business, choose and or search on any distributor and get any of the information you require. But that is not all MLM Downline software should do.
Integrating Activities Between Distributors in a Leg
One of the big problems in organization when a multilevel marketing business becomes large is keeping track of what different distributors in the same line are doing with the same downline person. Let me explain. Lets say I have signed up John in my business and have done some training with him. For whatever reason, I have involved my upline, Jerry, in helping to train him as well. So here we have two different people helping the one downline distributor build their business. The usual scenario that surrounds this situation is either a great deal of contact between Jerry and me is required to make sure we keep each other up to date on what is happening with John or we each work with John ignorant of what the other person is doing. Since keeping each other up to date with every detail can be tedious and often difficult, it would be nice if the software did that for us.
Training a New Distributor
One of the big problems for a new distributor is the information overload that can occur with joining a new MLM business. A major part of this is learning the methodology behind building the business. The methodology often includes the steps the distributor needs to take, the forms, the specific way of showing the business plan etc. Another advantage of MLM downline software is that it can provide network marketing training to the distributor by leading them through the business building steps one at a time. In this way they learn what is necessary to build the business without even realizing it. Provided the software is used throughout the distributors business, each new distributor will run their business in the same way.
